How the math works
Discounted = original × (1 − discount%/100). After tax = discounted × (1 + tax%/100). Effective ≈ after tax − cashback.
Example
- Start with the listed price.
- Add any % discount or coupon.
- Add tax if it applies at checkout.
- Add cashback only if the offer is compatible with your coupon.
Catch the catches
- Order matters: most stores discount first, then tax the reduced price. This tool follows that pattern.
- Cashback is not a discount at the register. Treat it as a maybe-later rebate.
